With All My Heart

by Joann Rosario

In this quiet place with You,
I bow before Your thrown
I bare the deepest part of me,
To You and You alone
I keep no secrets,
For there is no fault You have not known
I bring my past
And all the rest
To You I lay them down

With all my heart
I want to love You Lord
And live my life
Each day to know You more
All that is in me
Is Yours completely
I'll serve You, only You
With all my heart

You faithfully supply my needs,
According to Your plan
So help me Lord
To seek Your face,
Before I seek Your Hand
And trust, You know what's best for me
When I don't understand
Then follow in obedience,
In every circumstance

With all my heart
I want to love You Lord
And live my life
Each day to know You more
All that is in me
Is Yours completely
Thank You Jesus
I'll serve You, only You
With all my heart

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." Matt 22:37

I love this song. It is a prayer and a prayer that I need to say more often. Sometimes, with the busy life that we lead, it's easy to forget about God because we know that He is always there. But do we tell Him enough and show Him enough how much we love Him? Do we love Him more than anything else in this world? Do we love Him more than we love our family? ourselves? He should always be our first love and everything else comes second. He loves us that much too and He only wants what's best for us.

God keeps the key

taken from Streams in the Desert
366 Daily Devotional Readings
by L.B. Cowman

It is interesting to study the way God extended His guidance to these early messengers of the Cross. It consisted mainly in prohibiting their movement when they attempted to take a course other than the right one. When they wanted to turn to the left toward Asia, He stopped them. When they sought to turn to the right, toward Bithynia in Asia Minor, He stopped them again. In his later years, Paul would do some of his greatest work in that very region, yet now the door was closed before him by the Holy Spirit. The time was not yet ripe for the attack on these apparently impregnable bastions of the kingdom of Satan. Apollos needed to go there first to lay the groundwork. Paul and Barnabas were needed more urgently elsewhere and required further training before undertaking this responsible task.

Beloved, whenever you are in doubt as to which way to turn, submit your judgement absolutely to the Spirit of God, asking Him to shut every door but the right one. Say to Him, "Blessed Spirit, I give to You the entire responsibility of closing every road and stopping every step that is not of God. Let me hear Your voice behind me whenever I 'turn aside to the right or to the left' [Deut. 5:32]."

In the meantime, continue along the path you have already been traveling. Persist in your calling until you are clearly told to do something else. O traveler, the Spirit of Jesus is waiting to be to you what He was to Paul. Just be careful to obey even His smallest nudging or warning. Then after you have prayed the prayer of faith and there are no apparent hindrances, go forward with a confident heart. Do not be surprised if your answer comes in doors closing before you. But when doors are shut to the right and left, an open road is sure to lead to Troas. Luke waits for you there, and visions will point the way to where vast opportunities remain open, and faithful friends are waiting.
from Paul, by F.B Meyer

Is there some problem in your life to solve,
Some passage seeming full of mystery?
God knows, who brings the hidden things to light.
He keeps the key.

Is there some door closed by the Father's hand
Which widely opened you had hoped to see?
Trust God and wait-for when He shuts the dor
He keeps the key.

Is there some earnes prayer unanswered yet,
Or answered NOT as you had thought 'twould be?
God will make clear His purpose by and by.
He keeps the key.

Have patience with your God, your patient God,
All wise, all knowing, no long lingerer He,
And of the door of all your future life
He keeps the key.

Unfailing comfort, sweet and blessed rest,
To know of EVERY door He keeps they key.
That He at last when just HE sees is best,
Will give it THEE.

I love this devotional. When I read it, it just hit home. Finally I understood that even though things may not go my way, it doesn't mean that the door will stay closed. God can still open it one day, because He keeps the key and He will open it when He sees best. There's a purpose in every circumstances. We learn from our experiences and we grow and become more mature as the result. We may not know the reason why right now, but one day, everything will come together and you'll see God in all these.

*God, please help me to be more patient and understanding, knowing fully that You are in control and You only want what's best for me. I may not like Your decision right now but help me to understand that You are in charge. I only want to do what You want me to do. Please close all the other doors and open only the one that is meant for me. Please make the way clear, Lord. Thank You Jesus for everything.

LOVE

I have been meaning to put up this post for the longest time (since Valentine's Day - okay, not that long). I know I have been absent for more than a year...I think I'm coming back now...planning on updating my blog more often.

This is written by our pastor, Pastor B.J. Tatum of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, and I just love it. I read it in our bulletin on Valentine's Day. I hope it can be a blessing to you.

"We live in a day of superficial friendships and selfish understanding of love, and we are attracted on a superficial level because of external characteristics. Everybody needs a friend. The world is filled with lonely people. We are surrounded by people whom we know, but not many of the could we consider genuinely close friends.

Proverbs 17:17, "A friend loves at all times." Love is an indispensable key to Spiritual and mental health. A person who is mentally healthy is able to express love for the benefit of other people, to sacrifice for them, and to meet needs in others' lives. LOVE SUPREME was the sacrificial love of Christ when He "laid down His life for His friends" (John 15:13).

The secret of joy in Christ and victory through prayer is not in freedom from struggles and conflicts, but in experiencing God in the midst of life's hurts and disappointments.

Many Christians become discouraged when they are rejected or treated unfairly. This gives rise to a spirit of retaliation which destroys their peace and ruins their testimony.

We are alienated from God by nature and by choice, but Jesus, our suffering Savior, took upon Him our sins and paid the supreme penalty due us. "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23), but the sinless Christ was made sin for us so that we "might be made the righteousness of God in Him" (II Corinthians 5:21). Sinful man is too poor spiritually to pay his debt to God. Jesus died both for what we are by nature and what we do because of our nature. "Christ died for our sins" (I Corinthias 15:3).

Divine Love causes us to not merely partake of God's love; we must participate in it by allowing His love to spill over into our friendships with others."

How many of your friends that you really consider as your close friends? Who know everything about you, in and out? If you have more than one, consider yourself blessed. It's so true how we have a lot of friends or we know a lot of people, but only a very small percentage of them are who we consider as our so-called true friends.

One way to recognize a true friend is to see how they are during your hard times. The person who sticks around no matter what the situation is, who is not afraid to chastise you and tell you the truth, those are the keepers.

I am not an extrovert person to begin with, but I am truly grateful for the people that God has put in my life. Throughout the years, I found myself becoming more and more open to more people. I know I am blessed to have a few people that I consider as my close friends. But there is One, the 'best-est' friend that someone could ever ask for, His name is Jesus. He is a friend that everybody could count on. He loves you SO MUCH and I do too.
