What Will You Live For?

From The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren

Living the rest of your life for the glory of God will require a change in your priorities, your schedule, your relationships, and everything else. It will sometimes mean choosing a difficult path instead of an easy one. Even Jesus struggled with this. Knowing He was about to be crucified, He cried out: "My soul has become troubled; and what shall I say, 'Father, save Me from this hour'? But for this purpose I came to this hour. Father, glorify Thy name."

Jesus stood at a fork in the road. Would He fulfill His purpose and bring glory to God, or would He shrink back and live a comfortable, self-centered life? You face the same choice. Will you live for your own goals, comfort, and pleasure, or will you live the rest of your life for God's glory, knowing that He has promised eternal rewards? The Bible says, "Anyone who holds on to life just as it is destroys that life. But if you let it go, ...you'll have it forever, real, and eternal."

It's time to settle this issue. Who are you going to live for - yourself or God? You may hesitate, wondering whether you will have strength to live for God. Don't worry. God will give you what you need if you will just make the choice to live for Him. The Bible says, "Everything that goes into a life of pleasing God has been miraculously given to us by getting to know, personally and intimately, the One who invited us to God."

Living life is about making choices. I realize that being an adult means being able to make your own decisions. It is hard to know whether our decisions will be the best one for everyone or for ourselves. However, we are given choices and it all ultimately comes back to our goals in life. Our goals in life determine the choices we make. My pastor last Sunday said, "Who you serve is the matter of decision. Most of us is going to serve someone/something. We all make decision whom we will serve. If we decide to serve material things, that is the decision of our will."

Then we can say that what will we live for is also the matter of our own decision. As it said above, Jesus also faced the same thing throughout His time on earth. He has made His choice and didn't He make the right one? How I thank God for Him! Make your decision wisely. Before anything, think carefully on the impact of your decision and just pray to Him. You will know what to do.

May God bless you always.

Do Not Worry

Matthew 6:25-34

Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toll nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

I was reminded that we do not have to worry about anything because my God is my provider. He is Jehovah Jireh (Provider) after all. He will supply ALL my needs. He knows what's best there is for me. Even though things may not seem like how you want them to be, know that it's not about you and your plans. It is about Him and His great plans for us. We just have to trust on Him and listen carefully on what He has to say. Whatever happens, at the end of the day, you will figure it out. God works in different ways. He thinks differently. So, don't expect a casual happening. Expect an extraordinary thing. He is God! (I love the phrase 'O you of little faith' in this scripture...it makes me realize how indeed I underestimate Him . I need to put ALL my trust and just have faith in Him).

May God bless you and keep you safe, always.
